About This Report

Independent research examining digital visibility in Victoria's childcare sector

Why This Report Exists

The Victoria Childcare Visibility Report was created to address a critical gap in understanding how families discover and evaluate childcare services in the digital age.

As parents increasingly rely on online research to make enrollment decisions, digital visibility has become essential for childcare providers. Yet little systematic research has examined how effectively centres present themselves online or whether digital disparities create barriers to access.

This report aims to document the current state of digital visibility across Victoria's childcare sector, identify gaps and disparities, and provide evidence-based recommendations for improvement.

Our objective is to contribute to a more equitable and transparent childcare marketplace where all families can access the information they need to make informed decisions, and all providers have the opportunity to be discovered by families seeking their services.

Independence Statement

This research was conducted independently without commercial sponsorship or affiliation with childcare providers, industry associations, or government agencies.

The project was self-funded to ensure complete editorial independence. We have no financial relationships with any childcare centres, technology vendors, or marketing services that could influence our findings or recommendations.

No ranking or rating: This report does not rank individual childcare centres or publish comparative scores. Our analysis focuses on sector-wide patterns and systemic issues rather than evaluating specific providers.

No commercial interests: We do not sell services, products, or consulting to childcare providers. This research is published freely to serve the public interest.

Our goal is to provide objective, evidence-based analysis that serves families, providers, and policymakers without commercial bias or conflicts of interest.
